Resolution Rescue: iLoveKickboxing Comes to Exton

After all your holiday treats, resolve to get back on track with your fitness goals. Kick your unhealthy habits to the curb with a brand new workout for the new year at iLoveKickboxing in Exton.

Based on the successful nationwide model, the studio incorporates the workouts of professional fighters, while making them accessible and fun to the average man or woman looking to lose weight and get in shape. In the classes, members gear up with authentic boxing gloves and perform genuine conditioning drills and kickboxing techniques on real heavy bags. Passionate instructors motivate and encourage participants to “go the extra mile” to get stellar results based on their personal goals. This location is one of 180+ iLoveKickboxing studios, which has grown rapidly over the past few years. It is the fifth in Pennsylvania, with plans to open 24 more by 2018.

What’s it like to take a class at iLoveKickboxing? During the workout, members put on gloves to kick and punch just like a prizefighter. Classes are structured for any age or fitness level. Studios welcome beginners but still challenge more physically inclined participants. Classes feature multiple instructors that guide members through a compete body workout in 60 minutes. The program is based on High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), where you do intense bursts of exercise followed by short periods of rest. At ILKB, members can burn an average of between 450 and 800 calories per class (depending on size/gender of the person and how hard they are pushing themselves). Members also love the feeling of empowerment and stress relief that organically occurs along the way.

“We are thrilled to be growing our footprint in Pennsylvania and in particular the community of Exton,” stated CEO Michael Parrella. “In addition to assisting members to transform their lives through fitness, we’re eager to show residents how iLoveKickboxing gives back to the entire community by offering residents fun jobs and career paths and by donating funds to local charities through our ongoing fundraising efforts.”

“I am so excited to share iLoveKickboxing with my community,” said owner Chris Plitnick, who had previously spent 20 years in corporate America but was no longer personally satisfied with his career. “I knew that I wanted to change course, but what started out to be a business decision because I liked the ILKB franchise model has evolved into more than just a professional endeavor,” added Plitnick, who has plans to open four additional studios in the surrounding suburbs of Philadelphia. “It is very gratifying to know that we are helping residents improve their health and reach the level of fitness that they have always wanted to achieve,” he added.
