The Vineyard at Grandview Expands to Philadelphia Region with New Tasting Room in Wayne

The Vineyard at Grandview, a family-owned vineyard located amidst the rolling hills of northwest Lancaster County, recently announced the opening of a tasting room and shop at The Lancaster County Farmers Market in Wayne.

The Vineyard at Grandview’s Kennel family has been growing premium vinifera grapes—Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petite Verdot, Chardonnay and Albariño, since 2009. Winemaker Larry Kennel believes that “wine is made in the vineyard,” and attention to detail in the vineyard and cellar has enabled The Vineyard at Grandview to produce wines that display complexity and character and represent the best of Pennsylvania wine.

Through the shop at The Lancaster County Farmers Market, The Vineyard at Grandview will introduce the Main Line and Greater Philadelphia area to its newest and award-winning wines. Featured this month are:

2013 Grande Rouge

The Vineyard at Grandview’s flagship estate wine is a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petite Verdot. This is a big wine packed with elegance and bold, ultra-ripe fruit and subtle French oak flavors. The wine was awarded Double Gold from the 2016 San Francisco International Wine Competition and was recently featured at the “Greatest Wines of the East Coast” tasting event at the Wine School of Philadelphia.

2016 Albariño

This wine is The Vineyard at Grandview’s newest release. The dry white wine is a refreshingly tart estate wine and perfect for summertime sipping! It is a bright, zesty and crisp food-friendly wine with citrus and stone fruit flavors. This wine pairs well with white fish; seafood such as mussels, shrimp, oysters, clams and sushi; and grilled vegetables. The 2016 Albariño will be featured at a clam bake at The Vineyard at Grandview this summer, too!

The Vineyard at Grandview’s Lancaster County Farmers Market Shop is located at 389 W. Lancaster Ave. in Wayne.
