Phoenixville Area Community Services’ 6th Annual Empty Bowls Dinner Returns Nov. 9

You can’t help hunger until you know hunger, and you won’t know hunger until you’ve attended the Empty Bowls Dinner at Kimberton Fire Company on Friday, November 9th.

Empty bowls is a grassroots movement that began in Michigan as a way to help end hunger and food insecurity. The Phoenixville area’s Empty Bowls tradition began in November, 2007 with the Holck family, owners of Artisans Gallery & Café. The effort contributes both globally and locally but only with the help of people such as you.

Gather up a great group and head to Kimberton Fire Company’s Covered Bridge Room on November 9th. From 4 to 9 p.m., guests will be able to grab a hand crafted bowl created by area artists and students and enjoy a simple meal of soup and bread. Tickets are just $20 and Phoenixville Area Community Services will make sure all proceeds go toward fighting hunger in the community. At the end of the event, guests are welcome to take their selected bowl home as a new kitchen addition and reminder of the ongoing hunger issue.

Online registration will close at 12 noon on Friday, November 9th.  If tickets are still available, they will be sold at the door. If you wish to pay by check, please call PACS at (610) 933-1105, ext. 214.
