Sip, Sample and Shop Your Way Through Black Walnut Winery

Let’s go shopping! But first, how about if we sit back and relax a bit with some of Black Walnut Winery’s best vintages at the Sadsburyville location? We always enjoy hanging out for some sipping, sampling and shopping in the cozy and charming 200-year-old converted bank barn (open Wednesday through Sunday) or in the spacious outdoor deck area in warm weather. Take a well-deserved breather (remember, even red wine needs to breathe every now and then) and go have a good time!

Gather your BFFs, a group of your favorite co-workers or that special someone to sip and sample a tart Sauvignon Blanc, a soft Merlot or a rich Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine experts at Black Walnut take pride in offering you the best food pairing tips while describing alluring vintage profiles.

Continue the merriment and explore the gift shop for a few trinkets to share as birthday, hostess or shower gifts. Perhaps a shirt for that typical hard-to-buy-for guy or—better yet—something for yourself? Logo wine glasses, charms, cheeseboard spreads and even hip apparel are all on display at Black Walnut Winery for you to peruse.

Take a look at a few favorites:

  • A stylish men’s shirt from www.chrisstuff.com in dark blue with subtle wine bottle and grape design will look good on him as you share a picnic of wine and cheese overlooking a bucolic vista. $25
  • Fun wine-themed over-the shoulder totes from www.chrisstuff.com let you carry books, an umbrella or your favorite breads, cheeses and wine for an impromptu picnic or barbeque. $25

  • Perfect as a hostess gift or to use as party decor, wine-themed napkins and coasters from www.chrisstuff.com are colorful, whimsical and just plain fun. $2 napkins; $1 coasters
  • As if bacon on its own wasn’t delicious enough, Black Walnut carries spreadable Bacon Jam products. Made with real bacon and free of preservatives, these relishes are a hit to slather on crackers and sandwiches or as a favorite hors d’oeuvre for that added flavor-filled dimension. Original, Black Pepper and Red Chile & Garlic flavors available. $12.50

  • For the wine geek (and we mean that in the best way), go for a grape varietal table wine chart. Consider it a family tree of sorts on how wine grapes are broken down by name and how they are blended to make our favorite wines. $25
  • Assorted wine glasses are also available with the Black Walnut logo for the oenophile who has everything. Prices vary.

Remember, choice wines can be purchased by the bottle or case for gifting (or for you) as well. Take advantage of the Frequent Buyers Club, where volume discounts apply.
