Delectable burgers are a given at the annual Philadelphia Burger Brawl, but this year attendees can look forward to even more, with the return of tacos and cocktails and the addition of wings to the competition floor.
The fierce competition and ultimate burger sampling will unfold on May 21 at the Xfinity Live! complex starting at 3 p.m. for general admission guests and 2 p.m. for VIP ticketholders. Those who attend will sample burgers, wings and tacos from more than 60 culinary pros from the Philadelphia area while the chefs themselves compete to be named the best of the best. A select group of mixologists will go head-to-head in a cocktail creation contest to see who’s the best of the bunch.
Some of the creative burger-making pros will include Twisted Tail, Taproom on 19th, Lo Spiedo and Lucky’s Last Chance, to name a few, while the taco brawlers will consist of El Vez, Revolution Taco, Lolita and more. The complete list of competitors, including wing and cocktail creators, will be out soon, so keep checking the Burger Brawl website and Facebook page for updates.
Tickets for general admission are $45 in advance and $55 at the door. VIP admission is $100 when purchased in advance online and $115 at the door. General admission guests will receive unlimited access to burger, taco and wing samplings and one complimentary alcoholic beverage. VIP guests will enjoy a one-hour early admission, open bar and unlimited culinary samplings throughout the event. Children under 10 are admitted for free when accompanied by an adult.
In addition to enjoying a day filled with extensive culinary samplings, guests will be happy to know that proceeds from these ticket sales benefit literacy programming through technology for Philadelphia’s underserved children in the public elementary schools.
