Celebrate Adams County with the Inaugural Bounty of the County Event (August 11-20)

August is a prime time for local farms—fruits and vegetables are well into harvest, and it’s when they taste their absolute best. Plump, sweet blueberries, large juicy peaches, crisp colorful peppers, succulent corn on the cob … no doubt about it, summer brings amazing produce!

The Adams County Fruit Growers Association (ACFGA) invites you to come out and taste the region’s peak produce in the first-ever Bounty of the County event. From August 11–20, visit a participating restaurant and order off that restaurant’s special “Bounty of the County” menu, which will feature unique dishes created specifically to highlight the area’s copious produce.

“The Adams County Fruit Growers association is excited to partner with local restaurants to showcase the diversity of produce that is grown on family farms throughout the South Mountain Fruit Belt in Adams County,” says Kevin Knouse, Bounty of the County committee chair. “By purchasing items off the special menus at participating restaurants, you’ll also be supporting the local growers by helping fund research and education for the fruit growers of Adams County. Research and education are vital to the survival of our community of growers in Adams County and help us to continue to produce outstanding fruits and vegetables.”
