Don’t Miss This: Scrapple Spectacular with Author Amy Strauss at Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen (Oct. 15)

To those who bow down to scrapple, rejoice! There’s a new scrapple queen in town, and she’s sharing her scrapple love with you by way of book (and scrapple-eating events, of course).

Amy Strauss, author of Pennsylvania Scrapple: A Delectable History, is visiting Grain Craft Bar + Kitchen in Kennett Square on October 15 to fill your Sunday with scrumptious scrapple. The restaurant will be hosting a conversation, book signing and cooking demonstration with Amy during its weekly brunch.

Join in on brunch from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and enjoy Grain’s executive chef Jim Berman’s and Ms. Strauss’s unique, scrapple-themed additions to the brunch menu. Pair these items with a Dogfish Head beer for the perfect brunch.

And if that’s not enough to get you out to Grain, Pennsylvania Dutch and Kennett Square delicacies will collide during the live cooking demo. Chef Berman will be creating a unique scrapple mushroom brunch dish upstairs in Grain’s beautiful, glass-enclosed dining area.

Get to know Amy Strauss, lover of all things food and drink and her Pennsylvania Dutch heritage, with a decade of publishing experience in print and online publications for outlets like Philly Beer Scene, Philly Beer Week, Edible Philly, The Spirit News, PA Eats, Main Line Today magazine, Southwest Airlines, OpenTable, BlackBook, Philadelphia City Paper, Drink Philly and more.

Grab a signed copy of her book and learn about the sizzling history and culture of the beloved Pennsylvania Dutch icon scrapple, from its origination by German settlers of Pennsylvania to its resurgence among a new generation of chefs who are creating exciting ways to eat the staple.

Make your way to Grain Craft Bar+Kitchen on Sunday for a scrapple-filled start to your day! Reservations are not being accepted for brunch. All ages are welcome.

You can find Grain Craft Bar+Kitchen at 108 W. State St. in Kennett Square; phone: (610) 925-5169.
