Pair Playoff Football with ‘Philly’ Wings at Yards Brewery and Taproom

Yards Brewing Company is inviting sports and beer fans to its new taproom and brewery for “Philly” Wings, a.k.a. chicken wings with a local twist. Chef James Burke presents a new take on the classic chicken wing, with Philly Wings being created with a sauce made from traditional Italian long hots, an Italian-American staple in South Philadelphia and beyond.

Philly Wings are coated in a tangy sauce made from long hot peppers that are smoked slow and low in order to produce a deep savory and slightly smoky flavor. These football-viewing staples are served alongside robust blue cheese dressing, and they pair perfectly with a citrusy and refreshing Philly Pale Ale or any number of other tempting Yards Brewing Company beers.

“We bleed green in Philly, and as Philly’s brewery, we had to have a green sauce for our wings,” says Tom Kehoe, founder and brewmaster (and longtime Eagles season-ticket holder). “The Yards crew is psyched that the road to the big game goes through our backyard. Go, Birds!”

The new Yards Brewery and Taproom is open for all football playoff games, so now is the ideal time to pay a visit to sample these new tasty wings and sip some locally crafted brews.
