Coming Soon to Philadelphia: The Bourse Pop-up Beer Garden (June 29–July 3)

As a proud sponsor of the 2018 Wawa Welcome America festival, The Bourse Marketplace, set to reopen this summer as a world class food hall, is celebrating Independence Day in Philly with a week-long celebration! In the works are a happy hour, Historic District Block Party and the debut of its first pop-up beer garden from Friday, June 29, to Tuesday, July 3.

The Beer Garden at The Bourse, operated by BRÜ Craft & Wurst, will be located on the steps of the building. You’re invited to sip on $7 draft brews, including 2SP Delco Lager, Sly Fox Alex’s Lemon Wheat, Love City Unity IPA and Yards Pale Ale in addition to $10 specialty cocktails from Bluebird Distilling (a featured tenant at The Bourse).

“We are excited to partner with the crew behind the highly successful Uptown Beer Garden to bring the first-ever beer garden pop-up to the steps of The Bourse,” said Kelly Duffy, The Bourse Marketplace general manager. “Attendees will get an exclusive look at the renovations and all that’s to come when we open this summer. You’re not going to want to miss this!”

Additional fun will include summer-inspired bites like soft pretzels, hot dogs, water ice and Bassett’s Ice Cream, outdoor games, including corn hole and giant jenga, al fresco seating on the patio, giveaways, music and more. The Beer Garden at The Bourse will be open daily from Friday, June 29, to Tuesday, July 3, from noon–midnight.

The festivities will kick off on Friday, June 29, from 5–7 p.m. with a Red, White and Blue happy hour at The Beer Garden at The Bourse, featuring the aforementioned beers and $10 custom frozen concoctions courtesy of Bluebird Distilling.

The Bourse’s week-long celebration will culminate on Tuesday, July 3, with the Historic District Block Party, with a press conference honoring the new artisan food hall, with notables such as Mayor Jim Kenney, city representatives, Welcome America President and CEO Jeff Guaracino, MRP Realty Managing Director Charley McGrath and Principal of CANAdev, Michael Morris.

Guests will be offered an exclusive hard hat tour of the new artisanal food hall lead by The Bourse Marketplace General Manager, Kelly Duffy. The Bourse vendors, Barry’s Buns and Bonatsos’ Flower Shop, will be offering signature cinnamon buns among other baked goods and floral keepsakes.

The Bourse is a grand Beaux-Arts building dating back to 1891, when it was founded as the nation’s first commodities exchange. For a behind-the-scenes look into the renovation progress, news from the tenants and more, follow @TheBoursePhilly on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
