Save the Date: The 5th Annual Philly Wine Week (March 22–29)

Philadelphia Wine Week

Vino, wein, wine … No matter in which language you say it, wine is a universally beloved adult bev. Each year, Philadelphia celebrates wine with the Annual Philly Wine Week. This year’s celebration will take place Thursday, March 22, through Thursday, March 29, at a variety of locations downtown. From the Opening Corks party on March 22 to a wine tasting event at Jet Wine Bar on Saturday, March 24, your wine-soaked dreams will become a reality, thanks to this week-long wine extravaganza in Philadelphia.

Kick Off 2018 Philly Wine Week at Opening Corks

Start the week off right at the official 2018 Philly Wine Week kickoff party on Thursday, March 22, from 6–9 p.m., at the 23rd Street Armory. Dozens of sought-after, interesting bottles will be poured, and food from some of the city’s best chefs will be yours for the sampling.

“For five years, we’ve loved watching Philadelphians embrace wine and venture outside of their comfort zone to try funky, natural wines from Australia, earthy reds from France and niche, small-production wines from anyone who is making them! We’re excited to keep PWW chugging along and spreading the word that wine doesn’t have to be complicated, fussy or saved for a special occasion,” says PWW co-founder Kate Moroney Miller.

At this year’s Opening Corks, guests will mingle through the historic 23rd Street Armory building in Center City. They’ll be enjoying interactive and inspiring displays from the creative minds behind the talented group Arts in The Industry as they taste through more than 100 world-class wine options and savor light bites from exceptional eateries, including The Good King Tavern, Di Bruno Bros., Barbuzzo, Oloroso, Jet Wine Bar, American Sardine Bar, Maison 208, Lacroix and more.

Tickets are now on sale for $48 per person for general admission and $90 for VIP. VIP guests will be invited to enter the event at 5 p.m. for an extra hour to enjoy the tasting, as well as an exclusive Champagne bar, deluxe passed hors d’oeuvres and tasteful bites prepared by guest chefs.

A portion of the proceeds from the Opening Corks party will be donated to Philly Wine Week’s chosen charity for this year, The Center for Creative Works, which was selected for its dedication to the development and inclusion of those with intellectual disabilities through creative, individualistic means.

Please note: This is an extremely popular event and tickets will likely sell out, so be sure to purchase your tickets early, especially if you are buying VIP tickets, as these are limited in number.
